Brandon Davis and Devon Lamb have played the past two seasons at Southwestern Christian College in Terrell, TX. The Rams finished the season at 20-9 and lost in the Region 5 Tourney to eventual NJCAA National Champion Howard College 82-71 in the opening round of play.
Davis and Lamb will both take their skills to Lamar University next season.
"I really love the style of play at Lamar and I get to play ball with my best friend for two more years," said Lamb.
Lamb had a great two-year career at tiny Southwestern Christian College with just a enrollment of 200 students. Lamb led the Rams in scoring at 27.7 ppg this season to go along with 11 rebounds and 5.6 assists. Lamb was named Offensive Player of the Year and First Team All Conference this season along with 2nd Team NJCAA All-American.
Lamb, a Jacksonville, FL native along with Davis, scored a career high 52 points back in February vs Temple College. Devon scored 1,487 career points and grabbed 634 rebounds and dished out 289 assists while playing for the Rams.
"Devon is a scoring guard who logs alot of minutes on the floor and is a very confident high percentage shooter," said JucoJunction staff analyst Bret Swanson.
Lamb shot 56% (589-1,044) from the floor over his two-year career for Southwestern Christian College. Lamb received interest from Houston and Mercer University this season before deciding on the Cardinals.
Davis, a 6-foot-6 (170) small forward, also eclipsed 1,000 career points with 1,068 points and 210 three-pointers in his career at Southwestern Christian College. Davis shot 49% (210-431) from three-point range. Davis, a First Team All-Conference performer, also received interest from Florida Gulf Coast University before deciding on Lamar University. Davis averaged 20.7 ppg and 5.7 assists this season.
JucoJunction will watch out for more commitments in the weeks to come from the West Texas Region and all over the country on your source for junior college basketball recruiting.
