San Jacs West Headed West.... to Fresno!
Ironically enough, San Jacinto's Marcus West keeps moving further west.
The sharp-shooting 6-5 shooting guard/swingman from Frederick, Md., spent the past two years in Pasadena, Tex., and plans on spending his final two years of college at Fresno State University in California.

JUCO Junction confirmed this commitment with San Jac Asst. Coach Scott Horstman on Thursday.
Horstman said that West picked Fresno after programs such as Clemson, Iowa State and Oklahoma expressed late interest in the wingman this spring.
"They probably have been on him longer than anybody," Horstman said. "They were on him before the region tournament, while a lot of other people came in late."
West was a critical factor in the Ravens' improbably postseason run that saw San Jac reach the NJCAA title game on March 22. The Ravens won six straight postseason games, including an NJCAA semifinal round win over defending champion Dixie State College, before succumbing to 2003 NJCAA Champ Southeastern C.C. of Iowa.
This past season, West averaged 16.4 points and 5.6 rebounds. He shot 48 percent from the floor and a gaudy 45 percent from beyond the three point arc.
"He'll fit in at Fresno State," Horstman said. "They need a shooter, and he led our conference in three point shooting two years in a row."
West has already passed the TASP exam, which is a mandatory requirement for all students enrolled at public junior colleges in the state of Texas. He needs two classes in the summer to get his degree, but Horstman expects West to get that done without a problem.
