Tihon Johnson, a strong and athletic 6-4, 210 pound swingman from Mt. San Jacinto College in San Jacinto, Calif., has generated quite a bit of early recruiting interest.

Johnson played with the Compton Magic squad at the recent Mullen JUCO Showcase and then with the Kingsley Glass entry at the 2003 California JUCO Summer Showcase. At both events, he displayed a penchant for finishing plays above the rim and scoring.

A native of Columbus, Ohio, Johnson is expected to take an unofficial visit to Akron later this week with teammate Waki Williams. This information was supplied by Mt. San Jac Head Coach Patrick Springer.

Creighton, Illinois State, Boise State, Idaho and Akron are among the colleges that have expressed early interest in Johnson, Springer said.
