Cougars head into break

Western Nebraska Community College in Scottsbluff, N.E. just completed its first semester with an 8-6 record. The Cougars are led by second year head coach Russell Beck. The Cougars have just two sophomores on the roster.
Hauns Brereton (pictured on front) is a 6-foot-7-inch wing from Memphis, T.N. who transferred into the program from Northern Colorado University.
"Hauns is a tough nosed kid, he can shoot the three and has an amazing mid-range game," said Beck. Brereton is currently averaging 16.7 points and 9.2 rebounds per game for the Cougars. He is shooting 56.5 percent (52-92) from the floor.
Utah Valley and Central Arkansas have offered Brereton this season according to Beck. Santa Clara,BYU and Colorado State have also showed interest in the wing player.
Joe Stock is a scoring guard for the Cougars. Stock a Thibadaux, L.A. native is averaging 9.1 points, 3 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game. Stock is shooting over 47 percent from 3-point range and has a 2 to 1 assist to turnover ratio on the floor.
Justin Omogun is a promising freshman from Spring Valley High School in Brooklyn, N.Y. The power forward is averaging 14.8 points and 6.3 rebounds per game while shooting 61 percent (50-82) from the floor for the Cougars. "Joseph is a high major athlete with a great body," said Beck.
Omogun is currently a non-qualifier despite some reports that he has qualified. The NCAA Clearinghouse is currently evaluating one of his high school transcripts to see if he has enough core classes to qualify, their decision is forthcoming according to Coach Beck.
