New Fullerton College head coach Allen Caveness has brought in some new faces to Fullerton College this summer. Caveness comes over from Compton Community College. Fullerton has landed three transfers that played recently at Azusa Pacific University at Gerry Freitas Hoop Review event, which JucoJunction attended.
Darrian McKinstry: (SO) 5-foot-11 from Chicago, IL. McKinstry transferred in from San Bernardino Valley Community College where he averaged 14.9 ppg, 4.7 assists and 2.8 steals last season. Darrian shot 45% (147-327) from the floor last year while hitting 36.8% (32-87) from three-point range. McKinstry will play the point guard this season for the Hornets.

"Darrian is one of the toughest kids I have ever coached," said Caveness. "He plays so hard on both ends of the floor while chasing the ball everywhere it goes."
Cal State Fullerton, Ohio University and Fresno State have shown early interest in McKinstry.
Justin Carter: (SO) 6-foot-4 (200) from Gaithersburg, MD. Carter signed with Morgan State University for football out of high school at Watkins Mill High School in Maryland. Carter, an all-state wide receiver, never played on the gridiron after high school.
Justin played last season for Caveness at Compton Community College where he averaged 11.9 ppg and 6.5 rebounds while shooting 50.8% (95-187) from the floor.
"Justin has great versatility to play the 1,2 or 3 positions on the floor," said Caveness. "He played the point guard for me last season at Compton, this season he will be more of a 2/3 man."
The swingman has received some early interest from LSU, Nebraska, Cal State Fullerton and Ohio University.
Larry DeHughes: (SO) 6-foot-4 (215) from Los Angeles, CA. DeHughes played at Compton Community College last season where he averaged 6.8 ppg and 3.8 rebounds last season.
"Larry is a late-bloomer. He played the 5 man in high school and now he will play the 3/2 for us this coming season. He has a great body and is a solid defender on the floor," said Caveness.
Quinton Pratt (FR) and Warren Fuselier (FR) are two freshmen coach Caveness plans on seeing a lot of quality minutes this coming season. Pratt and Fuselier both are from Lafayette, LA where they were high school teammates at Northside High School. Pratt is a 6-foot-7 power forward while Fuselier is 6-foot-0 point guard.
